Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical (Med/Surg RN) – Day Shift

  • Schedule: Day Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 07:00 – 19:30 | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week (Post-Orientation)
    • Schedule Structure: 12-hour day shifts. Schedule subject to unit operational needs.
    • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required.
    • Holiday Coverage: Rotational holiday coverage required.
    • On-Call / Low Census Protocol: Standby/low census administered in 4-hour increments and re-evaluated every 4 hours.
    • Floating Protocol & Unit Details: Med/Surg unit (2 South: 18 beds; 3 South: 22 beds). Days ratio: 1:5. EMR: Epic. Telemetry monitoring via Philips virtual central system (RNs monitor strips). Drips non-titratable. Oversight of PCTs (1:8-10 day ratio). May float to ICU for general acute overflow or to Ottawa Campus (25 miles away, with at least 2 hours advance notification). Non-billable orientation: 12 hours. Dress Code: Solid color scrubs (no prints).

Submission Hardstops [STRICT & NON-NEGOTIABLE]

  • Clinical Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 2 years of dedicated Med/Surg RN experience strictly required [HARDSTOP]. Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
  • State Licensure / Registration [IN-HAND OR IN-PROCESS AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]: Active Illinois RN License strictly required, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated [HARDSTOP].
  • Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]:
    • Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) strictly required [HARDSTOP].
    • Active AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) strictly required [HARDSTOP].
    • PALS certification preferred.
