NIGHT-SHIFT MED/SURG RN CONTRACT – ASCENSION ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Registered Nurse (RN) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Operating within the acute inpatient medical/surgical unit at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital, this position features a structured 3x12 overnight schedule (19:00 PM - 07:30 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). NO ON-CALL REQUIRED! PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $2,324.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,568.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $21.00/hr (36 regular hours)
  • Overtime Rate: $31.50/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:30 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Block scheduling is not offered.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
  • On-Call Requirements:NO ON-CALL REQUIRED!
  • Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) rotation.
  • Department & Unit: Med Surg Unit 001 (20330).
  • Clinical Scope & Patient Care: Managing acute medical diagnoses, pre/post-operative surgical recovery, chronic disease exacerbations (COPD, diabetes, CHF, renal failure), infection protocols, and wound care.
  • Cardiac/Telemetry Competencies: Must be able to interpret basic cardiac rhythms and manage patients on telemetry monitoring.
  • EMR System: Epic (Ascension Epic test-out required during onboarding).
  • Floating Scope: Float on-site within clinical skill set, or to regional sister Ascension sites within 40 miles if operationally required.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 2 or more years of dedicated acute care Med/Surg RN experience. Prior travel experience is required.
  • Licensure: Active Wisconsin RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License in hand at submittal.
  • Certifications Required:
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Testing & Onboarding: Ascension Specialty Exam, Core Competencies, EKG Exam, Skills Checklist, and Epic test-out.

Location Details: Assignment is located at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital, 5000 W Chambers St, Milwaukee, WI 53210 (Dept: Med Surg Unit 001 - 20330). ⏱️ Assignment Timeline: 13-week contract running from October 11, 2026, through January 09, 2027. No Call Advantage: Requisition specifies no standby on-call obligations. Floating Flexibility: Willingness to float on-site within clinical skill set or to affiliated Ascension facilities within a 40-mile radius as needed. Submittal Rules & Compliance: Active WI or Compact RN license and AHA BLS must be uploaded with the initial submittal packet. Rhythm interpretation / tele monitoring competency must be reflected on the candidate profile. All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be presented upfront with the submittal packet.
