Schedule & Assignment Details
- Shift: Night Shift
- Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Contract Duration: 91 weeks (as listed; confirm with agency)
- Orientation Dates: November 9, November 23, or December 7, 2026
- Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work Thanksgiving and 1–2 of the next 3 winter holidays unless the unit is closed
- EMR: Epic
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Bed Size: 22 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
- Call: None
- Floating: Required across Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and other like units across campuses
- Local Radius Rule: Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, based on driver's license address
Responsibilities & Patient Population
- Provide general Medical-Surgical nursing care.
- Care for patients with renal, urology, and transplant conditions.
- Manage patients with complex renal and urological needs.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and document care in Epic.
- Float to similar units across assigned campuses as required.
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5–6.
Required Experience
- Minimum 24 months of Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center.
- Strong renal nursing experience.
- Strong urology nursing experience.
- Proficiency in transplant patient care.
- Epic EMR experience.
- At least one completed travel contract within the past 15 months.
- Level II trauma experience: Required.
- Level I trauma experience: Highly preferred.
Required License & Certifications
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate RN license at submission.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
Submission Documents - Updated resume showing at least 24 months of current Medical-Surgical experience. - Medical-Surgical-specific skills checklist. - Active Iowa or compact/multistate RN license documentation. - Driver's license for radius verification. - Current BLS certification. - Professional reference or performance evaluation from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months — preferred.
