Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
- Current NIHSS certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Experience supporting orthopedic and neurology patient populations preferred
- Education verification required
- Ability to float to other units as needed
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to medical-surgical patients with orthopedic and neurology needs
- Administer medications and treatments according to nursing standards and physician orders
- Complete accurate and timely nursing assessments, documentation, and patient monitoring
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions
- Support patient safety, quality outcomes, and a positive patient experience
- Participate in unit improvement efforts and collaborate effectively across departments
