Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Carbondale, Illinois
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Shifts
⏱️ Hours: 36 hours/week

We’re seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, patient-centered care in a primarily surgical unit with some medical patient overlap based on bed availability. The unit features private patient rooms, dedicated patient care technicians, and a shift supervisor on each shift.
✅ Requirements
Active Illinois RN License
Minimum 3 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
Current BLS/CPR certification
ACLS certification
Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills
Ability to care for both surgical and medical patients
Medical-Surgical Clinical Experience
Care of adult medical-surgical patients
Postoperative and surgical patient management
Medication administration and treatment planning
Patient assessment and monitoring
Recognition and response to changes in patient condition
Collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Accurate clinical documentation and patient education
Assignment Highlights
Primarily surgical patient population with medical overlap
1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio on night shift
Patient care technicians available on each shift
Shift supervisor available on the unit
Every-other-weekend scheduling generally expected
Holiday requests may be discussed with management
No holiday coverage required
