Voca Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Evansville, Indiana.
Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Description: Observation MS RN - Nights - Midtown **Clinical Interview**NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)Contract Length: 13 weeks
Bi-weekly orientation Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request) Primary location: MidtownShift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Henderson (KY 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible. On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/AWeekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS and NIHSS.Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med/Surg and 1 travel assignment.Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)Patient Population: Cardiac (chest pain, stress test/Lexiscan, post cath without intervention), CVA/TIA, hypotensive, syncope/dizziness, SOB, post-surgical, GI/Urology pre/post procedure, AKI, cellulitis, detox/CIWA.Skillset: Cardiac cath recovery (femoral/TR bands), post-surgical care (appy, chole, stones), NIHSS/Neuro assessment/dysphagia screen, initiate/titrate drips (Heparin, Insulin), indwelling drain management, straight cath/foley care, NG tube insertion, blood administration/documentation. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills.Unit Information: 23 beds. Ratio: Days (0700-1500) 1:4-5; PMs (1500-1900) 1:5-6; Nights (1900-0700) 1:6-7 CN takes patient assignment on all shiftsUnit Strengths: Welcoming to travelers, great teamwork. Manager has been with organization over 22 years and manages the two units in the hospital with the lowest turnover.Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs No hoodies or sweatshirts. No competing health systems or agency logos* 3 call-ins can result in termination **** Teaching hospital, may require precepting of students & new-hires ***Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required -- Subject to changeGSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation.
