Job Summary
Medical-Surgical Floor position for a Registered Nurse (RN) supporting patients with telemetry needs and multiple chronic conditions. The role requires strong assessment, critical-thinking, teamwork, and communication skills in a fast-paced patient-care environment. The position is scheduled for night shifts with 12-hour shifts and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; medical-surgical nursing experience; ability to care for telemetry patients; strong assessment and critical-thinking skills; experience managing patients with multiple chronic conditions.
- Preferred Qualifications: Telemetry experience; oncology and chemotherapy administration experience.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Provide dressing changes and wound care, perform wound vacuum changes, administer blood products, and access implanted ports. Care for patients using telemetry monitoring, intravenous infusion pumps, bladder scanners, electrocardiograms (EKGs), enteral feeding pumps, bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) equipment, heated high-flow oxygen systems, wound vacuum devices, and patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps.
- Additional Information: The unit supports a patient ratio of approximately 6:1 and emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, interdisciplinary communication, compassionate patient-centered care, dependability, accountability, and effective prioritization of multiple patients.
