Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse provides competent clinical nursing care that aligns with professional standards. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, the nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Essential Duties

• Education:
  • Participates in identifying and meeting personal learning needs.
  • Attends educational programs based on identified learning needs.
  • Uses patient education materials relevant to the patient population with assistance.
  • Assesses the readiness to learn of patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Evaluates the developmental level of patients and factors affecting their ability to learn.
• Evaluation of Care:

  • Seeks guidance when revising the plan of care.
  • Engages in discussions with interdisciplinary team members regarding the evaluation of patient care.
  • Communicates relevant information to ensure continuity of care.
• Implementation:
  • Exhibits competence in caring for patients with complex needs, focusing on physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
  • Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan.
  • Utilizes organizational nursing standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery.
  • Organizes and prioritizes care based on patient and family needs.
  • Consults relevant resources timely regarding patients with complex care issues and discharge planning needs.

Required Skills & Experience

• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Education

• Required: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school.
