Job Description
The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of nursing care. This role encompasses leadership, communication, and collaboration with the care delivery team to manage and provide patient care activities. The Professional Staff Nurse establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers while demonstrating a strong commitment to community and the nursing profession.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing care in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
- Actively participate in quality improvement efforts and take personal responsibility for enhancing patient satisfaction.
- Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support improvements in clinical care and discuss findings at multidisciplinary rounds.
- Apply the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to formulate daily goals and create individualized patient care plans.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in addressing clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues during care episodes.
- Engage in effective communication to articulate the patient condition to other care providers and influence care recommendations.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with colleagues, demonstrating accountability, enthusiasm, and cultural sensitivity.
- Provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families, ensuring a smooth transition through levels of care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional state-specific certifications (e.g., PA Act 31, 33, 34, 73).
Schedule
This position involves a rotating shift of 12 hours over 3 days per week. Guaranteed hours may apply.
