Voca Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Middleton, Connecticut.

Med Surg/Tele RN Nights – Middleton, CT
Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (7p–7:30a), Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday
Unit: Medical North 4
Charting: EPIC | Care Setting: Acute
Start Date: 3/17 | Pay: $90 | Contract: 13 weeks (job notes) / 91 weeks (guaranteed hours terms)

Unit Overview

  • 26 beds
  • Ratios: Days 1:3–4 | Nights 1:7–8
  • Charge nurse shared with North 6; nurse aides 1:8
  • Shifts: 8's or 12's, 7am start, every other weekend
  • Unit orientation: 2 shifts
  • Patient population: General medical — "everything general medical"
  • RT available 24/7 (nurses do their own respiratory treatments); pharmacy 24/7; hospitalist in-house 24/7
  • IV team 7am–8:30pm (must attempt first); nurse resource available 24/7 for IV help 7pm–7am
  • No vents; CPAP for HS only
  • Lunch breaks not paid
  • 36 guaranteed hours/week (OT after 48)

Requirements — Must Submit With

  • EPIC experience required
  • Prior travel experience required — does not accept first-time travelers
  • 2+ years experience
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, NIHSS
  • Must be OK working 48 hours
  • EOW is mandatory — cannot take a traveler who can't work the full weekend including Sundays
  • No blocked schedules offered — do not ask
  • No local travelers (within 50 miles)
  • Cannot be working another job while on this assignment
  • Must be able to start on listed orientation dates
  • No RTO within the first two weeks of start date; minimal RTO overall
  • Accurate, detailed, up-to-date profile required
  • License to submit: No (not required at submission)
  • BSN required: No
