Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position is located in a healthcare facility that provides acute care services. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients, including those with diagnoses such as urinary tract infections, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD. The position requires teamwork, effective communication, and attention to documentation, with a focus on patient safety and care standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift with 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Schedule is self-scheduling with availability for weekends as needed.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification, minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience, experience on a Medical Surgical Floor preferred but not mandatory, and ability to work within a 50-mile radius.
- Preferred Qualifications: PEDS experience is preferred but not required; strong communication and teamwork skills are valued.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, including to Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit for 1:1 patient ratios as needed.
- Additional Information: The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night, with various patient types and common diagnoses. RN duties include troubleshooting Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) systems, reading telemetry strips, and applying telemonitoring equipment, primarily using ICU monitors. The orientation includes one 12-hour shift or equivalent. Candidates must comply with facial hair testing requirements due to fit testing protocols.
- RTO Policy: RTO (Return to Office) must be requested upfront, requiring 7 or fewer days off within a 13-week contract. Additional RTO requests will not be approved after submission.
- Other Requirements: Candidates may not be affiliated full-time, part-time, or PRN with any organization associated with the healthcare system. Documentation accuracy is essential, and the required scrub color is navy blue.
