Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position requires a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced inpatient surgical unit. The successful candidate will work primarily with surgical patients, including pediatric patients aged 12 and above, based on specific surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients in the medical-surgical and orthopedic unit.
• Assist in the preparation and recovery of patients undergoing various surgical procedures, including general, abdominal, urological, orthopedic, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine, and bariatric surgeries.
• Floating to other units may be required based on the staffing needs of the facility.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards set by the department and facility.

Schedule

• Night shifts are required, specifically 3 in 12-hour rotations (19:00 - 07:00).
• Every other weekend availability is mandatory.
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, but efforts may be made to group shifts together when possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be accepted for this position.
• Pediatric experience is considered, particularly for patients aged 12 and older, depending on the surgical procedure.

Additional Information

• Holiday work expectations: If one holiday occurs during the assignment, working that holiday is required; if two holidays occur, working one is expected; for three holidays, two must be worked.
• Requests for time off (RTO) must be included in submission covers and confirmed in assignment documentation.
