Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse, Neuro MS The healthcare provider is seeking a qualified Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse to join the team on the 10th Floor Neuro MS unit. The role involves caring for patients mainly with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, burns, pediatric cases, and multiple trauma cases, with a focus on high acuity rehabilitation. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment providing essential care to complex patients.
Job Details
- Location: The healthcare providers facility in the specified region.
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, graduate from accredited nursing program, state licensure as an RN, with 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-acuity rehabilitation, trauma, or neuro care.
- Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care including trach care, ventilator management, bipaps, cpaps, IV therapy, PICC lines, central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drains/tubes, and pulmonary management with trachs and laryngectomies.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes online modules, NVCI in-person training, and unit-specific in-person orientation. Staff may float within scope of practice and will be expected to work some holidays. Scrub color is galaxy blue, with free parking provided. The unit maintains a culture of acceptance, with staff held to the same standards.
