Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in the state of New Mexico. This full-time night shift position involves providing routine and complex nursing care in a Med/Surg Department, practicing independently with awareness of all relevant aspects of situations, and demonstrating clinical competence. The role requires adaptability to float across departments and includes rotating weekend and on-call shifts.
Job Details
- Position Description: This contract role is for a Medical Surgical Floor Nurse practicing independently and demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of clinical situations. Responsibilities include providing routine and complex care, planning and long-term goal setting, and managing contingencies in clinical nursing.
- Required Qualifications: Current New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) license or current Compact state license; BLS certification via American Heart Association; Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred; shift scheduled from 7 PM to 7 AM for a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a similar clinical setting.
- Additional Information: The role involves practicing independently, delivering nursing care utilizing the nursing process, administering medications and treatments, monitoring side effects, and providing patient education. The position requires flexibility to float to all Medical/Surgical departments under the supervision of the designated nurse manager. Recommendations include addressing psychologically, emotionally, culturally, and socially complex needs of patients and families, in accordance with the scope and standards of practice.
