Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. This role involves providing care to adult and adolescent patients across a variety of diagnoses and surgical procedures within a medical-surgical floor setting. The RN will collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver patient-centered care based on established standards.

Job Details

  • Position Description: The RN will work on a 38-bed medical-surgical unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 during days and nights, with ability to handle a 1:6 ratio. The unit handles diverse cases including pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory viruses, and various surgical patients such as orthopedic and general surgery cases.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS (American Heart Association or ARC), CPI certification, 1 year of Medical Surgical (MS) experience, experience with EPIC documentation, ability to perform bedside shift reports, handling titratable and set rate drips such as Heparin, Bumex, Lasix, and ability to read telemetry strips or call tech support.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday shifts as needed.
  • Additional Information: The RN may float to Intensive Medical Care Unit (IMCU) for MS assignments, and must have experience with first-time traveler requirements. Scrubs are navy blue, and a unit-specific orientation of 1.5 shifts is provided.
