Job Summary
Protouch Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical unit in Libertyville, IL. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills and experience caring for patients with medical, surgical, oncology, and orthopedic/trauma-related conditions.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and document changes.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
Monitor post-operative patients and perform dressing changes.
Manage chest tubes and recognize potential complications.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Follow infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies.
Float to other medical-surgical units as needed.
Requirements
Active Illinois RN license.
Current BLS certification.
NIHSS certification required.
ACLS certification preferred.
Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted.
EPIC experience required.
Experience with chest tubes and post-operative dressings.
Orthopedic/trauma and EKG experience preferred.
Ability to work every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Flexibility to float to other medical-surgical units.
