Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse in the MS specialty at the healthcare organization. This position involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as providing health teaching and counseling to patients.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: ASN degree from an accredited School of Nursing, current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree of Nursing, certification appropriate for the unit or service
  • Responsibilities include assessing health status through ongoing data collection, executing delegated medical functions, referring patients when necessary, documenting according to guidelines, and monitoring therapy and treatment plans
  • Additional skills include health teaching, health counseling, resource utilization, treatment plan monitoring, and documentation
  • May perform health therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being directly or indirectly through consultation and delegation
  • May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
  • May be placed on-call during scheduled shifts
