Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing patient care across various medical and surgical units, requiring flexibility to float between departments. The position offers day shifts with a schedule of 12 hours per shift, totaling approximately 36 hours weekly, following an orientation period.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days (0645 to 1915), scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Valid Hawaii licensure required by the start of the assignment. Candidate must have Hawaii license upon acceptance of offer. No experience requirement specified, but 2-10 years of experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Procedural Sedation; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
- Unit/Department Training & Orientation: Orientation time is provided for each unit.
- Additional Information: The candidate must arrive on the Thursday prior to the start date to attend the employee health appointment on Friday. Please do not accept the start date if unable to be present on time. Floating to various units is required, including Medical (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute (18 beds), and occasionally Cardiovascular (15 beds). Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit. Equipment used includes Meditech electronic medical record system, pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
