Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Acute Care unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical unit.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort while delivering care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient management.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with the orientation and training of new staff as needed.

Shift Details

  • Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
  • Holidays: As needed

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
  • Number of Beds: 44
  • Staff Ratio: 1:5 (possibly 1:6 during peak times)

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • At least 1 travel assignment is required.
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS required.
  • Experience with Meditech EMR preferred, but not necessary.

Additional Information

  • Nurse Aides available on the unit to assist with patient care.
  • May be required to float to different acute care units as needed.
  • General orientation period is 1 week, with an additional 2 days for floor-specific training.
  • Gated housing options are available near the unit.
