Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week (48-Hour Contracts Available Upon Request)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on a 45-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a general M/S population including gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, hip/knee replacements, ORIFs, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, respiratory, and COVID patients
  • Perform and manage PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEGs/NGs, ostomy care, remote telemetry, and blood product administration
  • Conduct NIHSS and dysphagia screenings as part of routine patient assessment
  • Float within skillset to sister campuses (approximately 8–11 miles away) with a minimum of 2-hour notice for cross-campus floats; mid-shift float within the same campus is also required
  • Work every third weekend and every other holiday as part of the standard rotation
  • May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility

Required Qualifications

  • Active, current Compact RN License required
  • AHA BLS Certification required — must be attached upon submittal
  • NIHSS Certification required — must be attached upon submittal
  • Minimum of two years of strong Medical-Surgical experience required
  • At least one prior travel assignment required
  • Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
  • Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage change effectively
  • Experience with drip management, remote telemetry, and complex post-surgical patient populations
  • Resilient, hardworking, and collaborative — comfortable working with an experienced unit staff
