Job Description
Centerpoint Health – Winchester is a 79-bed community hospital serving east-central Kentucky. The facility provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency care, diagnostic services, labor and delivery, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing care.
The Med/Surg Telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with medical, cardiac, and post-surgical conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- ADN or BSN required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- IV insertion and management
- NG tube management
- PICC and central line care
- Catheter care
- Post-operative care for general surgery patients, total knee and hip replacements, hernia repairs, and colectomies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
- Telemetry nursing
- Foley catheter care and IV insertion
- Tube feeding
- Stroke care
- Post-operative patient care

- Facility Beds: 79
- Unit Beds: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:6
- Patient Population: Adults aged 18 through geriatric
- EHR/Charting System: MedHost
- Trauma Level: Not specified
- Accreditation: The Joint Commission accredited
- Equipment and Skills: Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, JP drains, Hemovac drains, ostomy care, NG tubes, tube feeding, and PEG tubes
- Common Conditions: Total joint replacements, general surgery, COPD, diabetes, dementia, dialysis, stroke, NSTEMI, CHF, and atrial fibrillation
Schedule & Additional Information
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Not specified
- Floating: May float to step-down to provide Med/Surg care as needed
- Orientation: Weekly on Mondays
- Scrub Colors: Navy or black
- Dress Code: Casual wear and Crocs are not permitted
- Position Reason: Leave coverage
