Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position located in the region encompassing multiple hospitals in the Seattle and Federal Way area. The role involves providing care for adult general medical patients including those with sepsis, COPD, Bowel obstructions, CHF, and similar conditions. The position requires working day shifts, with potential for weekend and holiday coverage, and involves float duties across designated facilities. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to read telemetry strips, titrate insulin and heparin drips, and deliver high-quality patient care in an acute setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 0600 to 1830, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; current state licensure; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); minimum of 2 years related work experience; willingness to wait for license submission.
  • Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within the designated region, including primary facility coverage and support at other facilities when needed.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit beds: 28 with patient ratios of approximately 1:4-5.
    • Common diagnoses include sepsis, COPD, bowel obstructions, CHF, etc.
    • RNs are required to titrate drips for insulin and heparin.
    • Telemetry monitors are centralized in a location in Arizona and can be accessed via an iPhone application; ability to read telemetry strips is preferred.
    • No charge nurse or house supervisor assignments; CNA staffing ratios of 1:10-14.
    • Equipment includes Cpap and Bipaps.
    • Uniforms: Professional scrubs provided.
    • Additional notes: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
