Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Days Shift in a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Libertyville, Illinois. This position involves providing high-quality patient care on a 36-bed Medical Surgical floor within a teaching and Magnet-designated hospital. The role requires collaboration with support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Position Description: RN Medical Surgical (MS) at a Level 1 Trauma Center with Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Primary Stroke Center designation.
- Certifications & Experience: Required: BLS, NIHSS; Preferred: ACLS. 0 years of experience required; willing to accept candidates with 1-year experience.
- Specialized Skills: Experience with chest tubes, post-operative dressings, orthopedic/trauma care, EKG skills preferred; EPIC electronic medical record system experience required.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting 11/30/2026 and ending 01/23/2027.
- Support & Support Services: Receptionist/HUC (0630-2300), Charge nurse, Phlebotomy, RT, Hospitalist, Telemetry monitoring with tele techs.
- Technology & Equipment: EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing system.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, including to other Medical/Surgical floors.
- Orientation: At least one shift to learn the flow, scheduled prior to start.
- Additional Notes: Uniform: Navy blue scrubs for nurses, teal for CNAs; free parking is provided. No on-call required; rotating holiday schedule; approval of time off through manager.
