Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position in a short-term acute care facility located in a high-volume, Level I Trauma Center. The role involves providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on med/surg and telemetry patients. The position requires the ability to adhere to protocols, document accurately, and work effectively within a collaborative team setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license in the state of employment, at least 2 years of medical surgical nursing experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, proficiency in med/surg skills, telemetry monitoring, IV start and management, phlebotomy, and central line care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic medical record system, ability to pass Relias EKG exam, knowledge of telemonitoring.
• Float: Float within the service line may be required to meet facility needs.
• Additional Information: The unit handles high-turnover surgical patients with diagnoses including ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, and GU conditions. Candidate must have excellent documentation skills, IV skills, and a team-oriented approach. They will need to pass the Relias EKG exam and interpret/manage dysrhythmias. The unit administers drips such as Heparin, Lidocaine, Bicarb, Bivalirudin, and Amiodarone. Knowledge of CBI (Continuous Bladder Irrigation) protocols is required.
