Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse, MS located in the healthcare facility. This 16-week assignment involves providing exceptional patient care in a high-turnover surgical unit. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and adherence to hospital protocols.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: BLS, ACLS certifications; current license in applicable state; 2 years of medical-surgical experience; must have excellent documentation skills, IV skills, and phlebotomy experience.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Manage ostomy, colon resection, colon and bladder cancer, and GU patient diagnoses. Maintain competencies in blood product administration, central line blood draw, colostomy and feeding tube care, starting IVs, Heparin, and Insulin. Support telemetry and remote monitoring, and manage specific drips such as Heparin, Bivalirubin, Amiodarone, and Lidocaine. Pass Relias EKG exam and interpret/manage dysrhythmias.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system, telemetry, and advanced patient care procedures.
- Travel Requirements: No local candidates within 75 miles; pending license accepted; open to accommodating block schedules; float within service line may be required.
- Additional information: Must successfully pass Relias EKG exam; demonstrate ability to care for high-turnover surgical patients; be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with complex patient needs.
