Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical - Neuro

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a Medical Surgical - Neuro unit. This role is ideal for individuals with neuro experience and a passion for patient care in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients with neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-6.
• Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in the management of storm and hurricane response teams as needed.
• Report to work during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations if required.
• Support weekend requirements, completing 12-16 weekend shifts per contract.
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC for medication, documentation, and communication.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, with neuro experience preferred.
• BCLS certification required; NIH certification preferred.
• Willingness to float to other units as necessary.
• Ability to complete mandatory EKG testing prior to start.
• Available for a contract length of 13-26 weeks.

Scheduling and Orientation:

• 36 or 48 hours per week are expected; if working 48 hours, no overtime will be billed until after 48 hours.
• Orientation includes 2 shifts on the unit after hospital-based orientation.
• Manager will handle scheduling for the unit.

Uniform:

• Scrubs required: Navy.
