Care Career is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Macon, Georgia.

Job Description & Requirements

  • 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12 hours, nights
  • Employment Type: Travel

Schedule

  • 12-hour Nights
  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 3×12 hours/week
  • 36 guaranteed hours

‍⚕️ Patient Population / Unit

  • Med-Surg / Telemetry
  • All inpatient Med-Surg units
  • Unit size: 20–36 beds
  • RN ratio: 1:4–6
  • LPN ratio: 1:4–6
  • CNA: up to 1:14

Required Experience & Certifications

Required:

  • 2+ years MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience
  • BLS
  • Must be proficient in required cardiac/telemetry skills
  • Must pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding

Required Clinical Skills

Candidate should be proficient with:

  • Trach care
  • Chest tube management
  • PIV starts
  • Glucometer
  • Insulin drips
  • Heparin drips
  • Drips titrated to HR rather than BP
  • All cardiac drips
  • Telemetry monitoring

Department Support

  • Charge nurse available
  • CNA support
  • Resource/discharge nurses
  • PICC team
  • RT available 24/7
  • Hospitalist 24/7
  • Intensivist 24/7
  • Central telemetry monitoring/tech

Technology

  • EMR: Epic
  • IV Pumps: Alaris
  • Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
  • Monitors: Philips
