Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Rehab/Med Surg

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical team. This position requires a compassionate professional who is skilled in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in an adult Med Surg unit with a 1:6 patient-to-nurse ratio, potentially flexing to 1:7.
• Assist in managing patients with common diagnoses, including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputations, and multi-trauma cases.
• Perform assessments and develop nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Utilize peripheral line management and oxygen administration effectively, including non-invasive airway management.
• Implement isolation precautions as needed to ensure patient safety.
• Participate in patient education and rehabilitation efforts aimed at promoting recovery and independence.

Scheduling Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM).
• Weekend Requirement: May work every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block.
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday every 13-week contract period.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Virginia or a compact state license from a non-compact state is acceptable pending licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) certification is preferred.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue certification is highly preferred.
• Previous experience in Medical-Surgical and Rehabilitation settings is required.

Charting Requirements

• Experience with EPIC charting system is preferred.

Additional Information

• This position may require floating to other inpatient units as necessary.
• Participation in staff scheduling requests must be submitted for consideration.
