Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical / Surgical

We are seeking a competent Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care in a medical and surgical unit. This position involves caring for patients who have undergone procedures such as joint replacements, general abdominal surgeries, and spinal surgery. The RN will primarily work with adult patients and is expected to practice independently while effectively managing their clinical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership qualities consistent with the relevant competencies, including Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Provide nursing care by utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
  • Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with the level of nursing practice.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to standard protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
  • Assess patients’ learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, identifying concerns and available resources.

Qualifications:

Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only) is required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Texas or compact state is required.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
