Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to adults and geriatric patients in a general medical-surgical setting. This role may include responsibilities for COVID-19 patient care and require flexibility in working conditions, including inclement weather and holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients, focusing on medical-surgical needs.
• Administer medications and treatments, including heparin drips and wound vac dressing changes.
• Manage high-flow oxygen and short-term BiPap with respiratory support as required.
• Participate in the Inclement Weather Team and be prepared for emergency situations.
• Attend unit team meetings as scheduled and engage in continuous education and improvement initiatives.
• Work effectively in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• EPIC experience is required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is mandatory.
• Charge nurse experience and CPI certification are preferred but not required.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply; local candidates are also accepted.

Shift Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15).
• Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week accepted; must be able to work every other weekend and holidays.
• Unit orientation for new staff will be for 24 hours.

Patient Overview

Daily census approximately 43, with a focus on general medical-surgical patients. The unit does not handle PCU level patients.

Additional Information

• All travelers and staff will be required to manage responsibilities during catastrophic events or disasters.
• Scrubs are not provided; navy scrubs are required.
