Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Tele | Travel | Winston-Salem, NC

Assignment Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the MedSurg/Tele unit. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse comfortable with general medical and some cardiac patient types, including pneumonia and chest pain. The ideal candidate is proficient in telemetry and eager to join a supportive team in a fast-paced, academic medical center.

  • Location: Winston-Salem, NC
  • Unit: 4A, 8 beds
  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4, CNA: 1:8
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Support: CNA, Receptionist/HUC, Charge Nurse, Phlebotomy, RT, Hospitalist, Intensivist
  • Floating Areas: Rehab, 4 Ardmore, 10 Reynolds, 9 Reynolds, 5 Ardmore, Burn-10 North, Throughput Unit
  • Orientation: NEO, 2 days departmental

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with general medical concerns
  • Interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms
  • Manage surgical drains and perform wound care
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for patient care
  • Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Proficiency in PCA, telemetry, and wound care

Preferred:

  • Travel nursing experience
