Telemetry RN Job Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience, preferably in telemetry nursing, cardiac diagnostics, or cardiac stress testing
- At least 200 proctored cardiac stress studies
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to administer and monitor medications used during cardiac testing, including Definity, Lexiscan, and dobutamine
- Competency with bubble studies and IV placement
- Strong patient assessment, cardiac monitoring, clinical documentation, and patient education skills
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac stress testing, echocardiography support, and related diagnostic procedures
- Monitor patients before, during, and after stress studies, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythm or clinical condition
- Administer Definity, Lexiscan, dobutamine, and other ordered medications according to established protocols
- Perform and support bubble studies and maintain IV access for testing and medication administration
- Collaborate with echocardiography staff and other cardiac diagnostic team members to promote efficient, high-quality patient care
- Provide clear patient instructions, reassurance, and post-procedure education
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, test responses, and patient outcomes
- Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment within the Adult EKG stress lab
