Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care to a diverse patient population ranging from adults to geriatrics. This role requires performing vital sign checks and blood glucose checks upon arrival on the unit.

Requirements

Minimum Experience: 1 year; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Floating: Required; may involve travel to nearby locations
Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time, as delays may affect start date due to orientation schedules

General Skills and Work Setting

This position involves working with a variety of medical-surgical diagnoses across multiple units, including Medical/Surgical and Telemetry settings. The Registered Nurse will utilize Epic for patient documentation and will work with Pyxis for medication management.

Work Schedule

Shift: Days – 3 shifts of 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00)
Weekends: Every other weekend (average 6 weekends within a 13-week contract)
Holidays: Expected to work if a major holiday falls within the assignment period, with expectations to work two holidays if three major holidays fall within the assigned timeframe

Patient Care Ratio

Patient care ratio is typically 1:5-6.

Scrub color required for this position is navy blue.

Orientation

Orientation hours are determined by the length of the contract.
