Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuro Med Surg

Unit Information

Location: Arlington, TX

Unit: 4 North (61901)

  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Staffing: 31 staff members
  • Day Shift Composition: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 Techs, and 1 HUC
  • Night Shift Composition: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 2 Techs
  • Patient Ratios: 6:1
  • Equipment: Sara Steady
  • EMR: Meditech
  • Floating Requirement: None

Job Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Neuro Med Surg unit where fostering a collaborative team environment and maintaining high-quality patient care are prioritized. The nurse will work directly with patients, employing specialized knowledge and skills necessary for the effective delivery of neuro care.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a current state license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in Neuro specialty, particularly Stroke care
  • More than 3 years of management experience

Typical Procedures

  • Electroencephalograms (EEGs)
  • Echocardiograms (EKGs)
  • Bladder scanning
