Registered Nurse – Medical / Surgical (Acute Neuro Unit)

Contract | Days, Varies 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on an Acute Neuro Unit in a fast-paced medical/surgical environment
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for assigned patients
  • Monitor and document patient neurological status and report changes to the care team
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
  • Adhere to facility holiday scheduling requirements, including 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Prior experience in an acute neuro or neuroscience unit
