Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse, Decatur, TX This role involves providing quality patient care on a 60-bed Medical Surgical floor within a general healthcare facility. The position requires collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals to support patient recovery and well-being in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: Providing patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a focus on telemetry, abdominal procedures, orthopedic surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
- Unit Information: Located on the 4th and 5th floors of the hospital, with a patient ratio of 5:1 on the 4th Floor and 6:1 on the 5th Floor.
- Number of Beds: 60 beds; Number of Staff: 50 staff members including RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit secretary when grid allows.
- Type of staff: Day shift; rotation includes weekends.
- Shift Schedule: Days, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications, education or degree requirements, and 0 years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac recognition, IV starts, time management.
- Responsibilities: Delivering comprehensive care, participating in procedures such as thoracentesis and heart caths, utilizing equipment like remote telemetry and Alaris IV pumps.
- Additional Information: Mandatory float as needed to inpatient rehab, ED, and PCU, within scope of practice; scrubs are worn in black currently, moving to Medical City Blue.
