Job Summary
The Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individual patient care using the nursing process. This role includes taking responsibility for the direction of co-workers and delegating appropriate tasks in patient care. All duties and responsibilities must be performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid nursing license to practice in the State of Ohio. CPR certification required.
- Experience: Previous registered nursing experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolutions; capability to handle multiple priorities; independent decision-making; critical thinking skills.

Essential Job Functions
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process.
- Provide quality care based on patient needs and the established plan of care.
- Educate patients and families throughout the admission to discharge process.
- Document nursing processes accurately and clearly.
- Notify physicians of pertinent observations and changes in patient status.
- Administer medications and perform treatments safely and accurately.
- Implement physician orders as directed.
- Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for patient care, addressing malfunctions appropriately.
Physical Capacity Demand
This position involves heavy work, requiring the ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Frequent patient handling activity is required.
