Med/Surg Department - Unit/Floor Supervisor
Schedule: 5x8s, some weekends
Shift: Evening hours, vary from 3pm-1130pm

Patient Population
Cares for patients of all ages
Pediatric patients are occasionally admitted; however, nurses will not have more than one pediatric patient in
an assignment
A pediatrician is on call 24/7 to support pediatric care needs
The Respiratory Therapy team administers nebulizer treatments and provides respiratory support as needed
Clinical Environment & Patient Care
Physicians round on Med-Surg patients twice daily
Focus on comprehensive, coordinated inpatient care
Strong collaboration between nursing, providers, respiratory therapy, and ancillary services
Staffing & Ratios
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
Time management and prioritization skills are essential to success in the unit
