Job Details

  • Position: Long Term Care Nurse (LTC) for the night shift (7:30 PM 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week.
  • Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or confirmation of application initiation, active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred but not required, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, and familiarity with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline care, and tracheostomy management.
  • Responsibilities: Managing critical patient conditions such as respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, and post-trauma care. Performing titratable drip management, troubleshooting respiratory equipment, and reading telemetry strips.
  • Unit Conditions: 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios, availability of respiratory therapy equipment, telemonitoring, and a house supervisor present 24/7.
  • Orientation: Classroom training as per organizational policy plus two shifts on the unit with a preceptor.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotations, with a 12-hour turnaround policy for shift cancellations every 13 weeks.
  • Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, confirmation of Illinois license application, and understanding of the organization's drug-free policy.
