Job Summary
Long Term Care (LTC) registered nurse position based in a healthcare facility. This role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in accordance with American Nurses Association (ANA) standards and utilizing electronic medical records. The nurse acts as a patient advocate, provides direct support, and educates patients and families on significant self-care issues.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Active Maryland (MD) state license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), minimum of 1 year of experience in nursing.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, either 6:45 am to 7:15 pm or 6:45 pm to 7:15 am, rotating weekends. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities:
  • Conduct head-to-toe and focused nursing assessments including vital signs and recognition of changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications, reconcile medication lists, and manage IV therapy if applicable.
  • Perform wound assessment and wound care, and implement pressure injury prevention and treatment strategies.
  • Follow infection prevention protocols and monitor blood glucose levels for diabetic management.
  • Administer oxygen and assess respiratory status; manage catheters and enteral feeding tubes.
  • Conduct bowel and bladder management, fall and injury prevention, and skin assessment to prevent breakdown.
  • Respond to emergencies with proper documentation and use of electronic health records system (Point Click Care).
  • Delegate and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and other assigned staff.
• Additional Information:
  • Complete onboarding in Salisbury followed by facility-specific orientation in Crisfield.
  • Participate in online training, shadowing, and hands-on orientation during initial days.
  • Will be assigned to different halls on a rotating basis, with staff-to-resident ratios typically at 1:19 during days and nights, potentially changing to 1:38.
  • Dress code: Navy Blue or Ciel Blue scrubs.
  • Shift notes and holiday rotations will be assigned upon placement.
