Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Job Description
Facility: Good Samaritan Society (GSS) – Canton
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Care Setting: Long-Term Care (LTC) / Post-Acute Care
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Charting System: PointClickCare (PCC)

Required Qualifications
- Active, eligible state RN license.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience in long-term care or post-acute care preferred.
- Ability to care for residents with dementia, memory-care needs, and orthopedic conditions.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and resident-care skills.
Facility Details
- Bed Capacity: 42 beds.
- Patient Population: Long-term care residents, including memory care, dementia, and orthopedic patients.
- Behavioral Risks: No current behavioral risks reported.
- Staffing: Two nurses during day/evening shifts and one nurse during night shifts.
- EMR: PointClickCare (PCC).
Shift Schedule
The facility uses a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts:
- Day shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
- Extended day shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
- Evening shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
- Every other weekend required.
- Every other holiday required.
- Overtime may be available.
- No on-call or call-back work is available or billable.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and clinical assessments for long-term care residents.
- Administer medications and treatments according to orders and RN scope of practice.
- Monitor residents' conditions and communicate changes to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate resident care plans.
- Coordinate care for residents with dementia, memory-care needs, and orthopedic conditions.
- Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff and other care team members as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation in PointClickCare.
- Follow infection-control procedures and facility protocols.
