Every other weekend rotation and some holidays are required. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:20 with one RN per hall and a med tech per hall. CNA staffing on days is 1:8-10 and 1:20 on nights. Bed Side Shift Reporting (BSSR), utilization of AIDET, and hourly rounding are required for all RN units. Night shift RNs will assume charge duties and may be the only RN in the facility. The position requires proficiency in various nursing skills, including patient assessment and medication administration. Experience in long-term care is essential. The role includes the provision of care to adult and geriatric patients. Daily census is typically around 60 patients. Various interdisciplinary support services are available, including physical therapy and social services. Special focus on infection control, patient safety, and compliance with hospital protocols is necessary. Floating to different units may be required as needed.
