Description:
Nurse will act as charge nurse and be responsible for medication administration and wound care.
The unit has 26 beds.
The facility uses an electronic medical record system.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:10 during the day and 1:19 at night.
Common diagnoses include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia.
There are no IVs or titratable drips required.
There are no telemetry monitors on this unit.
Registered Nurses are not required to attend team conferences.
The Director of Nursing oversees the unit with no additional supervisors present.
Physician availability after hours is provided by phone on-call.
The interdisciplinary team includes physical therapy as needed and a social worker designee.
Respiratory therapy is not available on-site.
Oxygen therapy equipment includes concentrators and portable concentrators.
Pharmacy services are off-site.
Shifts are 12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM, with no blocked schedules or self-scheduling.
Weekend requirements include every other weekend.
Holiday requirements include every other major holiday.
There are no call or standby requirements.
Floating to other units is not required.
There is no specific scrub color or dress code, but uniforms must be clean and presentable.
Unit/department orientation will consist of 2-3 shifts.
Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius and cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility.
Request for time off must be submitted upfront, with 7 days or less allowed per 13-week contract.
Additional requests for time off after submissions will not be approved.
The facility can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
