Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a cancelation. DNR is required. The unit will accept first-time travelers as long as they have skilled experience. Locals are accepted with a rate difference. The night staffing ratio is 1 nurse to 40 patients. Weekends will also have a staffing ratio of 1 nurse to 40 patients. The average daily census is 36, and the unit has 40 beds. From 7 PM to 11 PM, there will be two nurses on the unit, and it will drop to one nurse at 11 PM. The unit employs two CNAs. There is an on-call MD available after hours. All candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility. The facility does not have a call requirement. Every other weekend is required. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and must work two of three major holidays. No RTO is permitted during the first week of employment. All RTO must be pre-approved and cannot be requested after signing. The patient population consists primarily of geriatrics. Required nursing skills include an assessment of vital signs, diabetes management, wound care, and medication administration. Experience with special procedures such as tracheostomy care, suctioning, and managing feeding tubes is preferred. Candidates should also be familiar with infection control, safety protocols, and patient/family education. The unit utilizes PointClickCare for documentation and communication purposes. Compliance with national patient safety goals and standard protocols is expected. All nursing staff is required to adhere to proper isolation precautions and PPE usage.
