We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the night shift. The RN is responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a comprehensive nursing assessment on each patient within 8 hours of admission.
  • Develop individualized plans of care based on patient assessment findings and identified needs.
  • Identify patient and family education needs and establish appropriate teaching goals.
  • Provide timely patient updates for Initial and weekly Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and support individualized patient goals.
  • Initiate discharge planning beginning on the day of admission.
  • Provide patient and family education in preparation for discharge.
  • Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to physicians, Charge Nurses, and other members of the care team.
  • Seek guidance from senior nursing staff when managing complex clinical situations.
  • Delegate appropriately and supervise ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Provide direction, training, and support to LPNs, CNAs, and nursing orientees.
  • Promote patient and employee safety through adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe patient-care environment and identify and report potential workplace hazards.
  • Prioritize patient needs and effectively manage time and available staff resources.
  • Monitor supplies, equipment, and charges while providing cost-effective care.
  • Maintain communication with nursing leadership regarding supplies, equipment needs, repairs, and clinical training.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities following completion of the orientation period, as requested.
  • Participate in team-building activities and contribute to a positive, efficient unit environment.
  • Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience
  • Recent critical care experience
  • BLS certification required prior to first shift
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift for CIRH assignments
  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, delegation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
