Registered Nurse - Family Birthing Center / Labor & Delivery (L&D RN) – Night Shift

  • Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
    • Schedule Structure: 12-hour night shifts. Schedules posted 4 weeks in advance.
    • Weekend Coverage: 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule block (Friday/Saturday nights).
    • Holiday Coverage: Mandatory holiday coverage (must work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's). Holiday time-off requests will be considered but are not guaranteed.

  • Clinical Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]:
    • Minimum 2+ years of dedicated Labor & Delivery experience required (3 years preferred; minimum 1 year of LDRP experience strictly required) [HARDSTOP].
    • Will accept L&D-only RNs strictly if they have verified C-section circulating experience. Candidates with ONLY Postpartum experience are strictly rejected [HARDSTOP].
    • Newborn Delivery & Stabilization Competency: Must be comfortable and experienced taking the NRP/resuscitation role ("catching the baby") at delivery due to no in-house pediatric coverage [HARDSTOP].
    • Clinical proficiency in Pitocin continuous drip titration strictly required [HARDSTOP].
    • Mandatory Floating: Must be willing to float to all Sacramento area sister facilities [HARDSTOP].
  • State Licensure [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]: Active California RN License strictly required in-hand at time of submission [HARDSTOP].
  • Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]:
    • Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) strictly required [HARDSTOP].
    • Active AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) strictly required [HARDSTOP].
    • Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) strictly required [HARDSTOP].
    • Active AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification strictly required [HARDSTOP].
