Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP Float)

Contract | Days | Shift times: 0645–1915 / 1845–0715 | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to obstetric and postpartum patients across a combined LDRP unit, including couplet care
- Read, interpret, and respond to electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) strips independently
- Titrate common drips including pitocin, insulin, and magnesium per physician orders and quality metrics
- Adhere to AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines (1:1 for pit, mag, or insulin drips; 1:3 for couplet care)
- Float to other hospital units including Med/Surg and the Emergency Room as staffing needs require
- Collaborate with CNAs and charge nurses to ensure safe patient transitions, ambulation, and care delivery on a locked unit
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret fetal monitoring strips
- Experience titrating drips (pitocin, insulin, magnesium)
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to adapt to a dynamic clinical environment
- Previous travel nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- S.T.A.B.L.E. program certification
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR and/or Philips telemetry monitors
