Contract | Days | Night shift weekends (Friday and Saturday)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit managing high-risk OB patients, mag patients, and C-sections performed on the unit
- Perform independent patient assessments and examinations; conduct full assessments per unit standards
- Chart in two EMR systems: Meditech and GE
- Follow AWHONN staffing ratios and maintain a strong, fast-paced clinical practice
- Float to OB or nursery as needed in a task capacity (not as primary patient nurse)
- Deliver a high standard of customer service in all patient and family interactions
Required Qualifications
- BSN required
- Active RN licensure in the state of New York (or compact eligibility)
- ACLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- High-risk OB experience required; must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Flu vaccine required — no exceptions or exemptions
- Weekend availability required: every 3rd weekend (3 weekend shifts per 4-week period)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- RNC (Inpatient Obstetric Nursing) certification preferred
- Experience with C-section support and high-risk antepartum/intrapartum patient populations
- Familiarity with Meditech and/or GE EMR systems
- Strong customer service orientation with experience managing varied and complex patient assignments
