Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Rotating Weekends | 6-Week Rapid Response Assignment | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Labor & Delivery unit with 4 LDR beds, maintaining patient ratios of 1:1 (Pitocin) and 2:1 general
- Manage labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate newborn care including golden hour and baby care protocols
- Circulate and scrub C-sections; provide PACU care for post-cesarean patients
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech and CPN electronic health record systems
- Deliver patient-centered care utilizing AIDET communication standards and bedside shift reporting
- Adhere to every-other-weekend scheduling requirements; no floating to other units
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN License required — temporary licenses will not be accepted
- BLS certification required — must be included in submission packet
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required — must be included in submission packet
- ACLS certification required — must be included in submission packet
- AWHONN certification required — must be included in submission packet
- Minimum 2+ years of hospital/specialty experience in Labor & Delivery
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Ability to scrub C-sections in addition to circulating
- Prior experience with Meditech electronic documentation system
- Familiarity with environments operating without unit secretaries or patient care technicians
