Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care considering patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors. Documents steps of the nursing process accurately. Utilizes proper medical terminology and addresses problems and progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes patient education resources suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends in-services and meets unit education standards. Completes variance reports as necessary. Makes decisions using independent judgment from various alternatives that are subject to general review only in final stages. Coordinates activities of others without direct supervision. Leads others in the same work performed without supervision. Provides input on performance evaluations without being responsible for preparation or delivery.
